WELCOME TO PICARDY, OVER A CENTURY AGO.
Wander through the cobbled lanes and discover a Picardy village as it might have appeared in days gone by: workshops, shops, and living spaces recreated around an impressive collection of over 6,000 tools and artifacts.

Here, every shop window tells the story of a trade, a craft, or a moment of daily life.
The blacksmith shapes metal, the basket-maker works with wicker, the cooper crafts barrels...
Further along, the school, the farm, the dairy, and the traditional tavern evoke a way of life very different from our own.

TRADES THAT TELL THE STORY OF LIFE
The tour offers a chance to discover a multitude of trades that have since vanished or been profoundly transformed by mechanization.

Some are closely linked to the history of Picardy.
This is true of the peat cutter, who extracted peat from the marshes, the basket maker, and the locksmith—whose expertise helped establish the Vimeu region as a major hub for lock manufacturing.
The museum also highlights flax cultivation, agriculture, and woodworking and leatherworking.

What were these objects used for?
How did people work before the advent of machines?
Which trades sustained the villages of Picardy?
